Welcome to The Shores at Rainbow Lake, a gated community in Lakeside, Arizona located on the eastern shore of Rainbow Lake.


The Shores at Rainbow Lake Home Owners Association was founded in 1986 and now consists of 121 single family homes and 24 townhouse residences.


Sixty-one of the Shores lots have water frontage on Rainbow Lake which is approximately 110 acres.


The community has three boat docks that provide access to Rainbow Lake. There are also two tennis courts and one basketball court available for the association members.

The the main entry to the Shores is located just south of White Mountain Blvd. (Hwy260) and Neils Hansen Lane in Lakeside, Arizona.


Situated in the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the word, Pinetop-Lakeside offers visitors a cool alpine retreat in the heart of the White Mountains. Incorporated in 1984, the town of Pinetop-Lakeside sits at an elevation of 7200 feet. Its year-round population of 4,055 jumps to 35,000 in the summer months, as the mountain opens to seasonal visitors.

At an elevation of 6,800 feet, Pinetop-Lakeside is surrounded by the natural beauty of the White Mountains, the Apache/Sitgreaves National Forest, and the Fort Apache Reservation.


Hiking, biking, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing are popular recreational activities; camping and picnic facilities are provided throughout the area, and the White Mountain Trail system provides over 180 miles of developed multi-use trails.


Founded in the early 1880’s by Mormon pioneers, Lakeside derived its name from the area’s lakes, while Pinetop was named for a saloon keeper who served the Fort Apache soldiers.  The two communities of Pinetop and Lakeside incorporated as one town in 1984.

Here, sunny skies and four classic seasons enhance a variety of activities. In winter, visitors can enjoy sledding or tobogganing, snow boarding, ice-fishing, and, of course, world-class downhill and cross-country skiing at the nearby Sunrise Park Resort.   Miles of groomed trails and  first-rate facilities draw enthusiasts from around the world.
